The machine piecing in this quilt top is flawless and expertly accomplished.  The fabrics used in the making of this Bear Paw top are exquisite, high end materials of 100% cotton.  The green fabric that composes the Bear Paw's is a print that blends varying shades of the same green hue, so they are soft and earthy.  The ivory (off-white) background is the perfect companion fabric that compliments beautifully the green print.  The two combine in a harmony of colors that is both elegant and dramatic.  The batting is white 100% cotton Quilters Dream.  The backing is 100% cotton ivory wholecloth muslin, so no seams to wear or separate.  We marked this quilt top for lavish quilting:  a tight Celtic Chain in the sashing strips that continues into the inset squares; a modern variation of the feather triangle in the inset triangles; and the Baptist Fan in the deep borders.  The women of our Amish community gathered around this quilt in December 2008, adding 492 yards of hand quilting in this stunning Bear Paw.
